I saw the movie Out of Africa so many years ago, and I didn’t want to watch it again. The movie had made me cry, and I didn’t want to go through such sadness again.

But there it was, Out of Africa, on TV, and I did watch the last half or so.

I had forgotten most of it. Then, as now, I didn’t want the author (played by Meryl Streep) to have to leave Africa. I didn’t want Africa to be without her. I didn’t want the author’s lover (Robert Redford) to die in a plane crash or in any way — or ever. I wanted the author to stay there and always be right there in beautiful Africa.

Dear Heavenreaders, the radio show with Al Diaz was live yesterday, and I never talked so much all at once in my whole life. But what a subject to talk about — God and how nice He is and so easy to talk to and to listen to. What a God we have. How blessed we are!

I always loved theatre. When I lived in Springfield, Massachusetts, there was a fine summer stock theatre in the round called Storrowtown. They performed dramas and musicals. Professional actors performed, not amateur. I used to take my daughter to every musical and many plays.

I seem to remember the name of one play only, and remember only a few of the actors from Storrowton where I had so much pleasure.

Even before God and Heavenletters™, I had a theory. I knew it as the Stuffed Animal Theory.

We all know how beloved stuffed animals become to children. They become so important, terribly important, as if they were alive.

And even as adults, we may be touched by a stuffed animal or two we see in a store. Made of material, stuffing, buttons for eyes, sewn together with thread by a machine, we love them and feel so close to them. I have invented this, and I have named it SADD for Spatial Attention Deficient Disorder. Earlier I called it Spatial Dyslexic (SD), but I think four initials give it the importance it deserves. Every now and then, I am astounded to discover how much I’ve grown since Heavenletters™.

I now qualify as a decision-maker. In fact, I believe I have discovered THE BIG SECRET to making decisions. It took me many years to learn what I am about to share with you!

Of course, I must admit there are still areas of life in which I’m not a full-fledged decision-maker. Restaurants, for example. Which one do I want to go to? What do I want to eat? In such decisions, I am wobbly. And, oh, yes, decluttering decisions – can I part with this treasure, and, if so, what pile do I put it in: Give, Donate, Sell .

Otherwise, I make decisions right and left. I just make them. Right now I am making the decision to write and post this entry. I have to decide on a title. I have to make the decision as to where to put that break in this post that makes you press Continue. …continue reading
