Santa Claus is real
Where I live at present may be the only place in the world that does this. It’s the only place I know. And what a custom this is.
Every Christmas Eve, Santa drives through the main streets of Fairfield in his sleigh! The sleigh is huge and lighted up just the way Santa’s sleigh ought to be.
Preceding Santa is some kind of old truck, also sporting Christmas lights. The truck carries huge real bells that ring back and forth and sound the way bells are supposed to.
There is a police escort as well.
Santa’s appearance is so exciting. I don’t even believe in Santa! and my heart is touched every year, nevertheless, and my eyes fill up.
Santa’s sleigh goes by my house. Every year, when I hear the bells, I have always run to the window to see him.
This time, because Heaven Admin is here, and I wanted to be sure he saw Santa, I asked my neighbor across the street, Laura, who was born in Fairfield, what time Santa is coming. She said he is coming around the corner now. “Go outside to see him.” This was about 5:30.
For all the years I’ve lived here, it had never occurred to me to go outside until Laura said so.
Heaven Admin and I rushed to get our coats and boots on and went out onto the sidewalk, and we waited for Santa. We knew he would come.
When Santa in his sleigh arrived, he waved at us the way Santa would, and we waved back excitedly. Lo and behold, to our surprise and delight, Santa threw us a bag of assorted candies!
And that’s when we knew Santa was real!
P.S. Heaven Admin took a picture. If you and I are good, when Heaven Admin wakes up, maybe he will add the photo here. I think he will.
