THE BIG SECRET to Making Decisions
Every now and then, I am astounded to discover how much I’ve grown since Heavenletters™.
I now qualify as a decision-maker. In fact, I believe I have discovered THE BIG SECRET to making decisions. It took me many years to learn what I am about to share with you!
Of course, I must admit there are still areas of life in which I’m not a full-fledged decision-maker. Restaurants, for example. Which one do I want to go to? What do I want to eat? In such decisions, I am wobbly. And, oh, yes, decluttering decisions – can I part with this treasure, and, if so, what pile do I put it in: Give, Donate, Sell .
Otherwise, I make decisions right and left. I just make them. Right now I am making the decision to write and post this entry. I have to decide on a title. I have to make the decision as to where to put that break in this post that makes you press Continue.
I don’t sweat decisions any longer. I simply make them.
Hmm, I realize that there may be TWO BIG SECRETS to decision-making success. At this moment I am deciding whether to tell you the secrets now or to drag it out a little. At this very moment, I have decided to REVEAL ALL NOW.
BIG SECRET 1:
Be really busy. Be too busy to fiddle around. If you have ten decisions to make, you simply have to whip right through them. They have to be made, and you have to make them. No sleeping on them. No asking for advice. You make a decision, and you make it NOW.
BIG SECRET 2:
A decision is not the big deal you may have been taught. Toss-ups are okay. Now you say Yes or now you say No, and you say it quickly. Decision-making is easy when you accept that it’s okay if your decision isn’t perfect.
BIG SECRET 3:
If there is one, and you know what it is, will you kindly tell us?
