Two More Memories with Heaven Admin in Romania
Heaven Admin and I were walking up quite a long hill to reach the castle we were going to. Heaven Admin has long legs. My legs are short. Heaven Admin was in his stride. My legs were doing their best. Suddenly, without a word, Santhan slowed down. Naturally, he slowed down. It was like, if we had been driving, he went from fifty miles an hour to fifteen. To the best of my recollection, neither of us said a word about it.
Again, this is one of those memories that I can only wonder why it seems so important now and was so noteworthy at the time as well.
Heaven Admin’s slowing his pace showed his consideration. His attention was on more than the stride of his own walk. Is consciousness a kind of consideration? When what our attention is on changes, can that mean that our consciousness itself changes?
This next memory is harder to describe. It too was a change in pace. It was a change from slow and easy to sudden.
Heaven Admin took me to the airport in Romania where I was catching my flight back to Greece. We had gotten to the airport early, and then the flight was delayed. It was a long wait. I remember four hours. I told Heaven Admin to go on ahead with his continuing road trip in Romania, but he waited with me until my flight was called.
He waited longer than that. He waited to make sure I passed through security and immigration and got my passport stamped. He waited to make sure that I was all set. He was going to see for himself and make sure that I was indeed getting on my flight.
Then when I was through the final check-point, I looked back and waved. In one swift second, Heaven Admin made a 90-degree turn. His turn was all in one motion the way a soldier would turn around, and, suddenly, Heaven Admin was gone.
One thing I make of this memory is that when a businessman makes a decision, he makes it. No hesitation. Nothing indecisive. Heaven Admin didn’t hesitate about staying, nor did he hesitate about leaving once he felt it was the right time. His transitions were very clear cut. Is it because he has no hesitation that his mind is so clear and his actions so clear as well?
Why do these two memories stand out? Why especially these two?
Do you have such fragments of memories that stand out for you too? Will you tell us about them? Maybe you know why your memories stand out for you.
