The Western room

img_2973.JPG

Wouldn’t you know that I would get the Western Room at Paul’s house! Not what either you or I would expect!

I chose the Western Room because it has a tall tall slanted ceiling — I love that — three windows and almost its own full bath.

Here’s one of the windows — the design is really of a Christmas tree. Somehow the photo I took doesn’t do justice to the Christmas tree. This window, by the way, opens up to a huge porch, big enough to have a party on.

The Western room also has gun holsters, a steer’s horn, and other such items that I have balanced with a few things precious to me –  toddler pictures of my daughter, photos of friends, Vedic art, a feng shui colorful fish mobile, sheets with hearts on them, etc.

I also love the rustic barn board wall!

In this one room, I really have an office, a bedroom, a bath, a dining area, and a tiny fridge that I refer to as my kitchen! Here’s my office:

(I hope it shows in the right place. If it doesn’t, I’m sure you can figure it out! )

I see that I do need to put in some words here, and, hopefully, the following photo will appear with the words that belong to it. I am filling space here with words. Words and words, hoping that when this is posted, everything comes out in the right place. Maybe this will do it!

Here now (I hope here now) is another view of my office with a glimpse of the sink and dressing area behind my office.

This also gives you an idea of how I seem to spread out and leave things around. Some might say I clutter — yes, some might say that — and they would be right!

Below (I hope below) is another view taken from my office. Again, you can see the height of the room and your first good glimpse of the white-painted brick. I assume there was once a fireplace where the brick is.

And now, once again, I need more words to fill in space between the photos. I would dearly love the photos and the words that go with them to show in the right places. I work at this. The draft doesn’t show where the placement will be.

You could see my lamp in the above picture.

Below is a close-up of the lamp shade that my daughter decorated for me. How beautiful is that!

In another blog entry I’ll show you more of Paul’s place, inside and out.  And Santhan’s room, if he’ll let me show it. His room is serene and uncluttered, as you might imagine.

Oops, I almost forgot a photo of the area rug in my room. It’s a beauty.

What a splendid home you are living in. I so wish your readers could actually see what a magnificent, extraordinary home you live in with old time splendor and more than a touch of eccentricity and age. It’s great to see all these pictures.

Yo Heaven, is that a yard sale in the bathroom?

Happy to see you have a table desk in place now ….nice upgrade from the ironing board that you had your computer keyboard on for some time at your Farm Home. Wish fulfilled! Amen

Gloria, I dropped in to say hi and tell you that I never cease to have a laugh at what I read (and see) at times.
The western room! Did you have your choice, or is that the theme room that was available? And as we all know, God has a wonderful sense of humour…

I will be moving as well. As soon as my house sells, which I am praying is while the ground is still warm so that I can transplant many of my perennials. If not, a friend of mine has a farmhouse that is a spiritual retreat centre. I can plant them there over the winter and move them in the spring. I told her I will leave some so it adds to the charm.

I am looking for a house closer to my work, but not in the city. I need the country, or a small town. 3 hours a day driving is too much. It is taking it’s toll on my car and my body. I used to love coming home, as this was my oasis. However, a neighbour (who moved here after I did) is causing me daily stress. He is a retired police officer with a terrible “I do as I want, attitude.” I have nothing against police offers in general, but this fellow is unbelievable.
So he and his wife became my motivators. It seems that I am meant to stay working where I am for now ( Idid work so hard to get where I am :0)
And if I do at some point change jobs, I will probably be more centralized than I am now.
And I look around, and think I moved close to 2 years ago, and I purged so much. And it seems that things have grown back. Where does it all come from?
It must be such a weight lifted to be able to move into a castle with your room, and no furniture to worry about, trinkets, collectibles.. I envy you.
I may not drop in as often, but you are still in my heart.

In love & light,
Lynda

Lynda, and I love your sense of humor as well!

There are lots of empty rooms here. Paul doesn’t rent out rooms.

I chose this room because:

It has its almost full bathroom.
It has high ceilings.
It’s loaded with charm.

Oh, yes, such a long commute. It’s not worth it. May you sell your house and have a most auspicious move. Please drop in often and keep us posted!

Oh, this accumulating! I’m already thinking of things I “need.”

Loving you,

Gloria
