The Way God Thinks

I know that I said I would continue yesterday’s entry today. Is it okay if I do it tomorrow?

I want to write about something else this morning, and it is related.

Bernie Siegel sent me an email today about today’s Heavenletter, #3212, How to Read a Heavenletter. He wrote that he agreed with today’s Heavenletter and then asked:

Did you ever ask God why He rambles on with questions and metaphors and just doesn’t make the point?

Bernie loves Heavenletters. In fact, he’s been a champion of Heavenletters, and he’s one of my heroes. But you’ve got to know that Bernie is a very-to-the-point person. His emails are terse. There have been quite a few that have been two or three words or even one! Bernie doesn’t explain. He doesn’t go round and round. Bernie gets right to the point — unlike Jonathan Kozol and me — and, apparently, God!

Yesterday’s blog entry was about right brain activity which is circular rather than linear.

So when Bernie asked his question this morning, I pertly wrote back:

God is right-brained!

Since Bernie sent me his note, I reread the Heavenletter. I kind of read it from Bernie’s eyes. I had to ask myself: “What is this Heavenletter about?”

In fact, it wasn’t at all that clear to me. It seemed to be about a lot of things, but what? Maybe what it’s about can’t be told — can’t be found and can’t be told. And if we could write a summary of it, I imagine that the heart of it would be lost.

But I could pick out lines from the Heavenletter that stirred my heart. My favorite is this:

“Where is it within you that the soul of a Heavenletter lingers?”

That one line could nourish me forever.

I started to think of ways I could describe how God’s mind works. I thought of a metaphor! But then, fortunately, I remembered God’s introduction to the Heaven book where God does quite succinctly make a clear point.  And now I’ll end this  blog entry with God’s Words:

The heart of what I give you in these messages is not the message itself. What you extract from My letters may be succinct and wonderful, but it is only a thimbleful of what I give you. I pour down love upon you and a certain lyric wisdom far more than any words you extract.

My messages here are far more than their message. Messages are not enough. Knowing all the messages in the world is not enough. The message I give you is more than any synopsis of it. What I give you cannot be defined. The heart of My messages cannot be contained in words. The words are peripheral to My heart. There is nothing for you to learn here but to be with Me.

Would you not sit down with Me? We do not have to speak, or We can engage in idle chatter, or We can talk in circles, or We can hit the nail on the head. What does it matter? It matters that We sit together.

We are together for the engagement of Ourselves. We sit and hold hands. That is enough. A few moments with Me goes a long way. You do not necessarily know what you take away from Our meeting.

Be My love, won’t you?

What is My message here for you today? Forget about it. Just be with Me, and allow Me to take you places. Do not sit up so straight. Do not take notes. Just rest in Me.

Something I read this morning:

Make God Known
Sutra Number: 676
Heaven Sutra Date: 11/16/2000
Gloria to God:

Dear God, what would You like to say to us this morning?

God:

I would like to just sit with you and not say much. Give you a chance to receive Me. Receive Me more than My words. My words are one thing. I am another. The words are Mine but they are like an olive-branch held out for you to grasp. My words lead you to Me. They are pieces of bread tossed upon the path for you to follow to your destination of Heaven. My words are sounds, a clearing of My throat, a composition of music intended to pipe you on your way to Me.

My words are lures that lead to Me.

Of course, I am in My words. My words reveal Me to you. But My words flirt with you. They engage you. They say, Come over here.

Your coming over to Me is what matters and not My words. My words are a tool to bring you closer to Me. And you can come closer.

Beloved Jochen, I think God outdid Himself with the words you found! Thank you.

Yes just listen to what is said and let the words flow through you. If I do not understand the words heal anyway. Be still and be with GOD. Love you All Jack

Someone else outdoing himself continually. Jack, this must be is the most fantastic motto I ever heard. How do you do that, telling it all in two lines?

A voice in the back of my mind tells me sometimes and it is tremendous. “LOVE IS ALL” I am often told by ??? My higher Self???? be still and LOVE and all is well. Love you All Jack

It’s the BE STILL that can be the hardest of all. What is so scary, I wonder, about being still that makes it so hard for me.

Hello Gloria,
I haven’t received a Heavenletter since September 7th!:(

Any idea why that would be?
I had been quite busy painting cupboards and only went on to check emails in that past couple of days.
Then it occured to me to check the last time a Heavenletter came through.

In light,
Lynda

Beloved Lynda, we sure want you to receive your Heavenletters every day smoothly.

Immediately, I went to the data base. It shows you as subscribe and active and not bounced, so I don’t know why you’re not receiving your Heavenletters. We are sending them.

I wrote a long response to someone on the forum. My response to her is also meant for you. Here’s where you can read what I wrote:

Lynda, please see what you can do. I’m leaving for Chicago and then London. I’m not certain when I will have internet access, but as soon as I can, I will look for a response from you on the blog.

God bless you.

With love,

Gloria

Hello Gloria,
I have tried twice to unsubscribe, and re-subscribe. It accepts both, and tells me to access the link. However, no link arrives!
Any other suggestions?

Hi Gloria,
I have another email address at my internet providers site, and can access it anywhere. i tried it there, and it worked! perhaps there is a glitch with hotmail, although i do receive other emails from many sources with no problem.
God just wanted me to work a little to get the messages…

Where else can the beauty so clear here come from, but the Heart of God!

Pam, I don’t know anyone for whom BE STILL isn’t scary or hard or both and more – until we get used to it. Jack is, I am not, most are not. But I know from moments of “almost still” that right behind the scary feeling or even panic is immense joy. Mind hates to be still, thinking stillness is death or at least some bitter pill prescribed by the Cosmic Doctor for no intelligible reason. Heart longs for stillness, knowing stillness is LIFE. And we - Pam, Jochen – simply desire a solution that is workable for us. Really, I’m sure that’s all there is to it. Only long for your, Pam’s, solution, only lean there and ask to be gently taken there. We are dealing with deeply ingrained habits. No wonder it looks difficult and scary. But that is only because we think we have to DO it. We don’t. Hugs
