The Life O’ Puppies at Noah’s Ark

Here are Laszlo and Linus taking an afternoon snooze in their water bowl. These lucky pups will be transported to Wisconsin from Iowa on the Rescue Waggin on Sunday.
Iowa has more rescued dogs than it can find homes for. Thanks to Pet Smart Charities, there is the Rescue Wagon that drives easily adoptable dogs to Wisconsin where there is a demand for lovable doggies.
Before the dogs can go on the Rescue Waggin, they have to pass tests — psychological sociability type tests. Xena could never have passed.
I love how the dogs are named at Noah’s Ark. Laslo, Linus. That must be fun. I remember there were seven puppies once, and their names began with Y. It was near Yom Kippur, so they were given Yiddish names like: Yael, Yehudi, and Yakov. I don’t remember the rest. I suspect their new owners gave them different names!
I not only love how the dogs are named, I love that they are named. They aren’t given numbers. They are given real names.
And did you see the movie Beverly Hills Chihuahua? It’s really a wonderful movie. In the movie a stray dog gets adopted in Mexico. He is so happy. He says in wonderment a few times in his Spanish accent: “I have a HOME. I have a HOME.” See that movie.
Here are two great links:
The first is for Noah’s Ark, a beautiful shelter here. This is where Xena came from. Don’t miss this:

The second is about the Rescue Waggin — very wonderful!

May all the dogs in the world find good HOMES.
