I love metaphors too!

Ok here are some left/right brain words and phrases

cocoa powder/blissful Godsent magic dust
toothpaste/smile brighter
tea/herbal infusion
surfing/dancing on waves

My brain has frozen over into 2 ice blocks. The right is flavoured with strawberries.

This metaphor describes how I feel now. Time to go to bed!

How I love to be a teacher! Jack, metaphoric is the adjective for metaphor. A metaphor says that two unlike objects are the same. To complicate, a simile is one kind of metaphor. I believe Robert Burns' poem says: "My love is like a red, red rose." That is a simile because it uses the word like.

If Robert Burns said: "My love is a red, red rose," then that would be a straight metaphor because it doesn't use the words like or as.

Metaphors are right brain thinking because they are not logical!

When we say, for instance, a hammer is a tool, that is not a metaphor because it is literally true.

I love metaphors. I have more I want to say. That will be its own blog entry another day.

Jack, I love the idea that Mieke used the word metaphoric yesterday, and now today I use it too! There are indeed connections that defy logic!

This is the first time some one explained Left and right brain, that I can follow. Thank you Gloria. No I have not seen the film I never go and sometimes we see a dvd but very occasionly. Please could you explain the word Metaphoric, Mieke asked the grandson that question only yesterday and I thought to ask an ex teacher and funny you used the word in your opening today. Not so funny really is it, Love you all Jack

Thank God for Godwriting!
Thank God for this beautiful, bottomless word – Godliving.

But there is no brain, right or left.
As long as we believe in the solidity of walls, trying to walk through them will likely produce bruises and bumps, left and right. Once we drop that belief and all beliefs, everything will move through everything else effortlessly. No obstacle, no advantage, no disadvantage, nothing working, nothing not working.

Well, I'm not there, obviously, and what I'm writing is probably muddle-brain or no-brain. But I do feel this approaching: "Your life falls from My lips...."

I agree that "Godwriting cannot be an activity of the left brain." The only way we can hear from the Divine is if our ego/left brain steps aside. One of the "Course in Miracles" lessons is "Peace to my mind. Let all my thoughts be still."
