Randy and Sally from Illinois

Randy and Sally

It was in early spring that Randy and Sally drove up from Illinois to visit. Sally took a Godwriting™  workshop quite a while ago now, and both Randy and Sally are strong Heavenreaders. It was a wonderful visit. Somehow the blog entry about Sally and Randy got mislaid until I just found it now. I would never want anyone to miss out on knowing these two angels from Illinois.

1. The top photo is of Randy and Sally at Revelations Used Book Store. You can tell what a great couple they are.

2. The first photo below is of a Fairfield, Iowa T-shirt. Get it?!!!

3. The next photo is a display from 21st Century Bookstore. Across the street you see an Indian Restaurant called Mohan’s Delight. There is one menu cooked for lunch only, and it’s usually delicious. Foods in season! Everything cooked with mantras!

4. Yellow tulips on my coffee table, courtesy of Randy and Sally.

5. Pink crabapple blossoms.

6. White crabapple blossoms.

7. Pink crabapple tree in bloom. If you look carefully, on the right you will see my front door.

On this past 4th of July weekend two other dear people from Chicago drove five hours to visit Fairfield and to see this Godwriter™ for themselves. Through a comedy of errors, the camera was forgotten. But we will have another chance for photos in Chicago.  Hannah and Laurie have offered to sponsor a Godwriting workshop in Chicago. This will probably be the first lap of the journey on the Oneness Motor Home tour.

Maybe we will see you on our way too!

All right, Gloria…here I am posting a comment on the Forum, as you require. And I see there are “NO comments yet”, so the field is open, as it were. Wide open. So the blank page is staring me down, as it often does. I have now read all your family stories, I think, and they are so cool, so funny to read. I had a lot of good laughs this morning, in fact, as I read on and on in the forum, about you coming down to your desk with the birds attending you and so on. Now that we have met in person it is so easy to picture, and of course, true…in its way! And the realities of your memories were so evocative: your brother Bennie and your brother Sid, and how you liked even to say “My brother Sid.” I can relate…namedropping has an appeal, I agree. My mother’s brother was also named Bennie. And like your brother Sid, my Uncle Ben also favored his wife’s family in later years. Family stories are the best, as the Hebrew Bible attests! And in our own time, these much-vaunted close-knit families often contain feuding sisters who don’t speak to each other for years, or terrible words uttered by one’s nearest and dearest, words that magically retain their power to hurt through the years. And I must add, words that still comfort and bring joy too.
So much in your stories sparked my own thoughts about my family. My own family stories, however, seem such a tangled web that I couldn’t even begin!! Yet with your example I will, I promise I will.
There…a comment, though a bit of an abstract one that doesn’t say much. To sum up: thanks, Gloria, for making this wonderful site, and thanks for your daily inspiration.

Dear dear Laurie, you are indeed a writer. Very soon you will have to have your own blog, and you will make a commitment to write every day, and you will find your family stories tumbling out one after the other. You will hardly be able to keep up.

I would like everyone to know that you are the Laurie who, along with Hannah, drove from Chicago, and we met — the Laurie and Hannah mentioned at the end of this very blog entry about Randy and Sally.

And, yes, I bully everyone into posting — and sometimes it works beautifully as it did in this case!

Beautiful soul, this is the Godwriting blog.

You will find the Heavenletter Spiritual Community Forum on the website itself. Go to www.heavenletters.org Press where it says Community up top, and you will find yourself there.

Now, of course, you’ve really gotten yourself into it cuz now you are also have to post on the forum too!

Thanks so much for posting here, Laurie. What fun!

I hope that tiny mention of a final Chicago workshop blossoms. Just about the time I was starting to think of attending the next doable workshop was when they came to an end. Even the possibility is like seeing a rainbow.

Oh, that would be so wonderful to have you at a Godwriting workshop, dear Charles. We can’t be absolutely definite about the dates, but will likely be the last Saturday and Sunday afternoons in September. I will see that the two sponsors have your email address. Do you know anyone else who might be interested in knowing about this Chicago workshop?

Thanks…Gloria, for introducing me on this forum. I am so honored to actually be introduced! Now, it appears, I have to say something: actually, yesterday I should have said something, but I’m doing it today, now that Charles has said he will come to the September workshop! In Chicago. So, hello everyone who is here, and, unaccustomed as I am to public speaking, let me say that … I’m happy to be here among you. Gloria is a hero, we all know that. She may even be my particular hero. I love the way she loves people, and shows it: it’s just what we all need, isn’t it? And she reminds us in the simplest and most basic way that we are living in God’s love, and that’s why we’re here, and that’s a pretty big thing, a pretty big concept that along the way got lost for many. And losing that concept, and that awareness, was just about the biggest loss the world could sustain. But clearly it was only temporary, and we are coming back to remembering that God is still here. God is not dead, as so many thought, especially those who read books and formed opinions, who were influential. Gloria you’re influential. And you are also on the calendar: September 27 and 23 in Chicago: write me for more info, anyone who wants to be there. Be there or be square, especially you Forum readers who live in or around Chicago. I know there are a bunch.

Beloved Laurie, welcome to the BLOG! This is the BLOG.

Your comment here reminds me so well, Laurie, of a time (most of my life) when God simply wasn’t in my awareness whatsover. I certainly didn’t denounce God. He was simply someone that I had no acquaintance with. Somewhere along the line, He caught up with me and caught me good. I think He sneaked up on me. I don’t know how He did it, but one day, I was on my own, and then the next day I was filled with God’s love.

Kiddo, the dates are very tentative. Until we can be definite, we’d better leave the dates blank. Right now we can’t say for sure when the Oneness Tour will start.

Nevertheless, it’s a good idea to start making a list of those in the Chicago area — or wherever they are — who would like to come to the divine workshop you are sponsoring, and then, when we have a definite date, we can pounce!

Laurie, if you tell me it’s okay, I can put your email address here and in Heaven News, and people will be able to contact you. We have to put your address in in such a way that robots can’t pick it up and bombard you. Actually, I’ll show you now how it’s done with my email address:

gloria [at] heavenletters [dot] org

God is very strong that we don’t want to endow anyone with attributes they really don’t have. God has called me His typist, typewriter, and donkey! God knows my place. We don’t want to mix up the mailperson with the messages she delivers. :)

A thousand blessings!

With love,

Gloria

Gloria, it’s okay to put my email address here for people to contact me, any way you want to.
We have some tentative dates for the workshop, and I’ve put them on the calendar at the Cultural Center that we can use…but not to worry, they can be changed easily enough. And interestingly I see that my posting to the blog (not the forum, as I thought) included a typo on the dates! So the dates are canceled out here, until you make them definite.

If you or anyone you know are interested in a Godwriting(tm) workshop in Chicago, please let Laurie know. She and Hannah are sponsoring the workshop. Likely the workshop will be at the end of September, but we don’t have a definite date as yet.
