Organizing Power
It is hard to believe that I still have decluttering to do. You’d think I’d be done by now.
My friend Nancy who is in town for a few months has been coming over often and helping enormously.
At my request, she gives me deadlines, so, for instance, when I know she’s coming over, I am sure to have books bagged for Revelations Used Book Store and clothes bagged for My Lucky Day Resale Shop, and Nancy drops them off for me. Sad to say, left to my own devices, I might not get around to bagging books or clothes.
Nancy is a power-house of physical energy. She never runs out of steam.
Not only that, she really knows how to organize things. I don’t. I think something was missing in my childhood where I did not learn how to deal with space and how to put objects in them. The space issue also includes my missing sense of direction, which also, I believe, accounts for my difficulty in geometry. I do seem to have some issues with physical space.
Anyway, Nancy came over the other day and organized four (4) of my kitchen cupboards. It was so simple and easy and obvious for Nancy.
She made one of those twirling cupboards foodstuff. I seem to have been incapable of that. She made the other twirling cupboard dishes and empty jars.
One regular lower cupboard she made all plastic bags and such and also seaweed. I should explain that I ordered some bulk seaweed from Maine, and a pound of seaweed takes up quite a bit of space.
The second regular lower cupboard she made pots and pans, all stacked neatly. And she’s not done yet.
Now that Nancy has set up these cupboards, let us pray solemnly that I can maintain the order!
