In walked another miracle

You know, when something wonderful happens and I tell about it, it often doesn’t seem as amazing to others as it seems to me.  This that I am going to tell you about is very important to me, yet I realize it may not seem so important or earth-shaking for you as it does to me.

After the build-up I gave, I suppose you might be thinking I found a 5-carat diamond among Lauren’s glass beads, or I found five hundred thousand dollars in my back-pack, or a palace appeared for Heaven Admin and me to move into until we are able to take off in a motor home for the Oneness Journey to Argentina.

It was nothing like that.

A person I long wanted to meet — not that I knew this person’s name ahead of time or knew who he was  — walked in the door the day after the moving sale to pick up some things that someone out of town had bought.  This certainly was someone (though I didn’t know who he was) I was hoping to meet someday with all my heart, for he has  — or may well have — a tremendous role to fill in my life — you might even say a hole in my life to fill.

There was a little weird thing going on here too because I couldn’t get this man’s name straight! His name is Michael Rose. I kept thinking his name was Richard Beamer. Figure that one out!

Even when I finally got it through my head to call this beautiful answer to a prayer Michael instead of Richard, I discovered I had subconsciously written down his name as Michael but with Richard Beamer’s last name. Michael Beamer! There is a Richard Beamer in town, but I don’t know him. Anyway, Michael Rose said that Richard Beamer is someone he knows well and is someone I will want to meet.

Now, I also had some old Iowa Source monthly newspapers lying around that I had saved for packing. As a matter of fact, I had a pile of July 2009 Sources. There was one Source on the counter that Michael, Heaven Admin, and I were leaning on. Michael pointed out to us that his photo was on the front page of this very Source! Yes, there was Michael on the front page!

Now, c’mon, if there are no coincidences, how did an old Source with Michael’s picture on the front page happen to be right there? Of all the Sources I had saved for packing, why that one? Why wasn’t it an August 2009 Source etc.

I’m not making a big thing of this (well, not too big) but it does make you wonder, doesn’t it?

Now to get down to what I consider miraculous.

Have I ever told you about a little book called Heart of a Gopi? It was written over fifty years ago by Raihana Tyabji in India. It was inspired writing. The story wrote itself. The words came from somewhere but not from the author’s intellect or design. The author could hardly write fast enough to keep up.

To tell you quickly, the story takes place in Brindaban, India,  3,000 years ago, when Krishna, an embodiment of Love, lived on Earth. Krishna plays a flute. Not all can hear Krishna’s flute. The Gopis are milkmaids, and they symbolize devotion. They can hear Krishna’s flute.

Meanwhile, the worldly King had listened to his crafty advisers. In their own self-interest, the advisors convinced the King that his own dear brother was planning to kill him and take the throne. Thus, the King, as it was in those days, had no choice but to order his soldiers to slay his brother and his family.

A simple (and very handsome) cowherd heard of the plot to kill the family and, he bravely rescued the innocent brother and his wife and their beautiful daughter whom the cowherd had always loved from afar. The cowherd finds a safe place to hide the parents and honorably takes the beautiful sixteen-year old daughter as his bride. This is where the story begins.

I sent this little book to Heaven Admin who was in Argentina at the time, and he loved the story and asked me if I would write a play of it. I said, “Yes.” As I was writing, I discovered that the play wanted to be a musical.

We were introduced to a lovely composer, Cheryl, in the Boston area. Although I initially wrote the play, lyrics and all, in two weeks, over the years, little by little, with Cheryl’s help, I have been improving the script.

No play is created by one person. Most especially, a musical. A musical needs a choreographer, set and costume designers, musical director and mainly a DIRECTOR.

Now Michael is a play director. He has also much experience as an actor. He is also a writer of plays.  He is also a spiritual blessing to the planet and helps many people discover the depth of who they really are. He is well-versed in Vedic literature. In a word, we connected. He’s the director I want. I think Heaven Admin does too. And Michael certainly appreciated us. Michael is open to reading the script.  And he walked in my door!

We were all so innocent. We had no idea, and then Michael walked in my door to pick up something for someone else. I try not to get ahead of myself, but I think he is the one. He is the one I want.

Had I tried to contact Michael — I had thought of contacting directors in town — and tried to interest him in a play I had written, I, an older woman in Iowa, without previous experience in theater etc.,  no credentials, how much effort would I have expended, and how far could I have gotten?

Then Michael walked in my door.

I could never ever have imagined this happening.  I don’t think we could have made this happen. Not in a million years.

Are our lives so directed by God that a director comes to my door?

Is not knowing the key? What is the key? Is there a key?

It’s a wonderful story Gloria. Thanks for sharing. It’s inspiring to hear how this unfolded. Think you have a good eye & capacity for Miracles!

Funny enough, on a musical note keeping with the same theme, I led some singing of a Krishna bhajan last night at an evening of Sacred songs, Devotional Singing, here in town. How bout them apples? Guess it’s in the air. :-)

Gloria, am very happy to hear of this creative project in the making. Sounds like things are coming full circle since the days when a musical first helped open a door to your Godwriting.

As you’re getting freed up from the house it looks like more life energy is being freed up for your creative life projects. Moving forward, bravo!
Wishing great good luck with this big leap forward.
Love to you, Ginger

Ginger, I have been longing for some Kirtan for ages. I wished to have been at that Kirtan. I even knew about it. Next one OK? Once it takes off, I’m sure the singing can go on more than once a month!

How’s that about the directory huh. ‘Bout time. He’s got a beautiful name and rightly so.

You would have gotten very far Gloria, because the the script is powerful and the Bhakti is pure.
