How I See Things
Where in the world can I write so freely as I do on this blog?
You don’t think I’m off the wall because of what I write — too much, do you!!
Remember that blog entry I wrote about the green beans I saw lined up on my cutting board, and how they looked like birds? That entry was called How My Mind Works.http://www.godwriting.org/godwriting/how-my-mind-works-operating-style.htm
There is more.
When I look at people’s necks now, they all look like tree trunks. Do you see what I mean? Some people really have thick necks, and some necks are more like new trees. Tell me if you start seeing necks now the same way I do.
This morning, while I was Godwriting, I happened to look up, and there was a man across the street walking down the sidewalk, and, for a moment, it looked like he was sweeping the edge of the road with a short broom. That made no sense, of course, but then I craned my neck, and I could see he was walking a little white dog. Oh, well!
Yesterday morning, I had a nice experience.
I let Teeny Weeny out (see http://www.godwriting.org/godwriting/computer-intrigue-spam.htm and http://www.godwriting.org/godwriting/the-real-teeny-weeny-cats.htm) There was an overcast sky. No direct sunlight. It had rained the night before.
Well, when I let Teeny out, there was a large leaf on my front step, and it looked like sparkling metallic gold. From a seemingly sunless sky, the sun shone on this leaf. It looked so golden that I had to reach down to touch it to see if it really were gold, but, no, it was a soft wet leaf that for a moment looked like glittering gold. I imagine that to see the gold vibrating, I had to be my height and in the exact posture I was in and the sky just as it was at that moment.
When I got back to my desk and looked out the window, there were bits of sunlight on the whole landscape. The imperceptible sun made everything that was wet flash sparkles of gold and silver. It was very beautiful.
Today the sky is overcast again, and leaves are simply leaves fallen from trees, and there is neither gold or silver to be seen.
That’s how life seems to be from one day to the next.
