Heaven Admin’s Goodness

It never ceases to amaze me how kind, thoughtful, and delightful Heaven Admin is. Of course, he takes it all in his stride.

At 5:30 a.m. on the morning I write this blog entry,  Heaven Admin flew to San Francisco for a Drupal Software Conference. Drupal is the open source platform that the Heavenletter web site and forum run on. Heaven Admin loves Drupal.

Open Source means freely given. But not only do Drupal and other open source programs give you the program itself, they also give you all the mechanics of it so you can adapt it to your specific needs.  Heaven Admin is kind of open source himself in that he gives and gives freely, gladly, and creatively.

And what has he done before he leaves for San Francisco? He prepared enough food for me for about three days. I have spent many many years on my own, and I always managed to eat, and now, here is this sage making sure I eat and eat well for at least three days while he is away.

How does Heaven Admin think so much about the welfare of others? How does he think of these things to do and how does he fit them into life? When I took off for Chicago, it was all I could do to get myself together.

I believe I grew up with the idea of “each man for himself,” and now I find the opposite.

I am learning so much.

However, all is not golden, for Heaven Admin does not make it easy for me to reciprocate! Of course, I love him for it!

Here’s an example. I found his clothes in the dryer yesterday, and I was folding them neatly and happily when he came home and took the clothes out of my hands.

God forbid I should try to scrub his bathtub. He kicks me out.

Every day there is a struggle about doing dishes.  Of course the one who cooks isn’t supposed to do the dishes.  Heaven Admin cooks. I eat. The one who eats is supposed to do the dishes. Doesn’t everyone know that? Apparently, Heaven Admin doesn’t.

Does anyone know what can be done about this?

Accept the gifts with love equivalent to the love they are given with. Accept all the gifts of the Universe with love. And share Love with all. Do we think we must repay the sunshine? The rain? The trees? The cows who give us milk, cream, and butter? We are all given so very much more than we could even dream of repaying, except by growing more expansively loving.

Meyw is so right, Heaven Admin wanrts you free for writing blog and heaven letters each does what He/she is good at and all live happely. I know it is harder to accept gracefully then giving and I have learned that over time So accept with LOVE and not only thank the giver but also God who made the giver. I do not express myself very well but you might take to heart meyw’s reply Love to All. Jack

Jochen, Heaven Admin is quick. Not only that, he is stronger than I am and has grabbed dishes away from me. He is formidable!

Margaret, your response was so beautiful — at first I thought it was a God quote! You are right, of course, yet it is hard not to want to reciprocate.

Jack, you express yourself very well indeed.

Gloria, as a few of us have mentioned before, does Heaven Admin have any clones of himself, that would enjoy coming to other homes?

Seriously though, whatever the reason Heaven Admin seems to take such good care of you, you absolutely deserve it! Margaret is right.

And when you say “each man to himself,” those are the words that many in the western society growing up when we did, heard. I know I did. I can remember my grandfather, who loved to garden, grow big red, juicy tomatoes. And then he would charge his own children if they wanted any. Imagine!

So, if Heaven Admin wants to do as much as he possibly can, it is because he is doing so out of love, and would never expect anything in return.

I think it’s all about reciprocating. Giving and receiving. And giving means also giving another person the possibility to do something for us. Sometimes I pretend I am not capable of doing something (that I could perfectly perform on my own), just to let my son help me and feel good about his skills. I think giving is not only doing things for other people, it’s more subtle than that. Including giving the others the opportunity to give.

I read all your comments, and I listen to what you say. You are right. At the same time, could you sit there at the dining-table day after day and be waited on and not want to do the dishes?

Actually, I never thought that you could interpret it to mean that you were to give him the opportunity to give. (This is another example of how words can be misinterpreted.)

Beloved Paula!

I always tend to be on two sides.I love it that Heaven Admin wishes to spare me things. Beloved Paula, what a lovely thing we “fight” about! He wants to do the dishes for me, and I want to do the dishes for him! May we fight always!

Heaven Admin appreciates Heavenletters so much. He is so respectful and so kind. He is a true gentleman. It is just natural for him.

And I am learning so much.
