Great Quotations

In junior high school, I started notebooks of quotations I liked, sentences and paragraphs that meant a lot to me. I didn’t keep up with these notebooks, but I often started them. Still, the fact that I started collecting quotations tells me now how much words of wisdom meant to me even back then. Those notebooks are long gone, and I cannot recall a single one of the quotations.

When I taught school, I collected quotations constantly and shared them with my classes. Those were the days of ditto machines, and I would run off pages of quotations which, as I remember, were literally in purplish ink. The children and I shared wonderful words written from the hearts and minds of great souls.

For so many years, I read a lot of poetry. I read only books worth reading.

Isn’t it odd that now, in a time when I am privileged to write down inspiring words from Heaven, for the most part, I read detective and spy stories and such! The books I read these days may be unputdownable, but there aren’t any noteworthy quotations in them that I have noticed.

Certainly, as I look back, I see that a major theme that ran through my life was words, words, words.

And now I still love to find great quotations, and there are many of them in Heavenletters™.
