Ginger, Super Angel
I swear, Ginger Nelson must have wings! Later you will see a photo of Ginger.
But first, Allison, a gift from Ginger. How would you feel if you were frantically in the middle of cleaning the house you are moving from, and someone comes to your door and says, “Ginger paid for two hours of my time to help you clean.”

This is Allison, the Godsend that Ginger sent.
Was there ever such a thoughtful gift? Who ever thought of such a gift? And who would ever make it happen? Why, Ginger did.
Wouldn’t you be floored if Allison turned up at your door?!!!
Now, let me backtrack a little.
Ginger had come over the night before to help us for about an hour. As it happened, she stayed until after midnight. I don’t know how we could have gotten the office done if Ginger hadn’t stayed.
Besides the time Ginger gave us, she gave us some tricks. This is the one that stood out for me:
During the packing, I found my lost passport. I found a whole bunch of postage stamps. Ginger put a clothespin on the passport. She put all the stamps together with a clothespin. “That way you’ll always find them.” And this works!
Now, wouldn’t you think that Ginger would have done enough by then? She had blessed us with herself and with Allison. But, no, this was not enough for Ginger.
The next afternoon, as we are in throes of cleaning the not quite emptied house, out of the blue I get a phone call from Jo Beth Lewer at the Volunteer Center in Fairfield, to wit:
“Ginger Nelson called us, and we’re sending some volunteers to help you clean. They’ll do anything you want them to.”
Is this Christmas?!!! Am I Cinderella?!!!
The Evans family came over, a mother, father, and a son and daughter. They did such unappetizing tasks as cleaning out the laundry room and garage etc. Not fun. This was a scorcher day, and they cheerfully did whatever asked.
I took photos of everyone, but, to my dismay, the photos of Donna, the daughter, didn’t come out, not one. Donna was fabulous. Every mother would want her high school daughter to be like Donna. Donna didn’t wait to be told what to do. She went ahead and did what she saw needed to be done.
Brenda is the mother’s name. As you can see, no spot of dust would ever defy this wonderful woman and mother:

Below you will see Robert, the father with a great sense of humor and a strong back. Don’t believe what his tee-shirt says because he is a wonderful family man.
Next, under his photo is Jerry Lee, the teen-age son. In addition to cleaning out the laundry room and moving heavy stuff, Jerry Lee swept the front sidewalk.

The Volunteer Center also sent Earl Shepard. He blessed us with his energy and brought us more boxes and gave tremendous advice. With four people besides me and another friend already working there, I simply couldn’t think of what I could give him to do. Earl is a retired fireman who now owns twenty rental properties.

God bless all these volunteers and the Volunteer Center. Thank you all. (I will have to do a blog on the Volunteer Center one of these days.)
What a wonderful world we live in with people like this who help other people above and beyond.
And here’s another picture of Ginger who is an angel herself and knows how to bring in all the angels:
