Fun with Heaven Admin
This is an expose! This is telling how Heaven Admin first became an entrepreneur.
These are the facts as I remember them. When Heaven Admin told me these confessions, we were driving to the airport on our way to Las Vegas. I laughed non-stop. Too bad I can’t convey the intonation of Heaven Admin’s voice nor his facial expressions, and you would be laughing unstoppably too.
Senor could have been a world-renowned comedian exactly as he told the stories to me. There is no one who could hear him tell his stories and not be bent over in laughter!
Heaven Admin has a little brother two years younger than he. I am guessing that at the time of this story, they were seven and five years old. They lived in South Africa. I can’t help but think that no matter where, children are the same, and how very different little boys are from little girls. I sure wish I had pictures of the two brothers.
The two brothers decided to have a lemonade stand in their driveway. Their driveway was long, and very few people traveled it. Usually kids who had missed the school bus and who were late for school. Too often, these kids did not have any money to pay for their lemonade. There may have been some fisticuffs until the drinkers of the lemonade paid with something, perhaps a toy or part of a toy they had in their pockets.
Add to the mix, these two little boys did not know how to make lemonade. They used two ingredients only — fresh-squeezed lemons and equal amounts of sugar. I could picture those little boy hands squeezing the juice out of the lemons and measuring sugar and putting their whole hearts and souls into it with such eagerness and innocence.
The next business they went into was copying rented movies and selling them around town. They had a regular route and regular customers who bought their copies of movies. This business was successful.
When I was a kid, I remember picking lilacs from my yard with a friend and going house to house to sell the bouquets. I can’t remember if we made any sales. I do remember that we knocked on doors of people whose yards were filled with lilac bushes of their own. One man told us that a bouquet of lilacs had to be big and not scrawny like ours, and he went out into his yard with us broke off branches of his lilacs and gave them to us to sell.
Kids sure know how to have fun, don’t they?
What businesses did you start when you were a kid?
