How to End All Wars V
Wouldn’t it be great if we could truly end wars, not just the wars themselves, but the disharmony that fuels them?
Another idea to end all wars occurred to me, and I think it’s a great one. First of all, I will tell you how this idea came to me.
I was walking down to the center of town (called the Square). This is a walk I often take.
It is not unusual to see a house with an American flag out front. This particular day, I saw a house ahead of me with an American flag AND another flag which I couldn’t quite make out. My first thought was that this other flag was the Iraqi flag! — not that I knew what the Iraqi flag looked like — but that was the thought I had.
The sight of the Iraqi flag in America gave me a beautiful rush of energy, and I walked faster. I felt love for the people in that house who had such vision. I loved America, and I loved the world. How could there be hard feelings and disturbance between countries when we have every flag flying high?
As I got closer, I saw that the flag was not Iraqi but rather an Iowa State Flag.
I looked up the Iraqi flag on the internet, and this is what it looks like:

This is what the Iowa State flag looks like.

But still, the idea came even so. And here is my idea:
What if every nation flew every flag in the world? Not just their own. The flag of every country, big country or small, ancient or new, flying outside every government building and many private businesses and homes! The flags would all be the same size, of course, and all flags would be beautiful, and all flags would fly in the breeze in all countries, and all nations would be ours.
Isn’t this a splendid idea? How could it miss?
