How to End All Wars V

Wouldn’t it be great if we could truly end wars, not just the wars themselves, but the disharmony that fuels them?

Another idea to end all wars occurred to me, and I think it’s a great one. First of all, I will tell you how this idea came to me.

I was walking down to the center of town (called the Square). This is a walk I often take.

It is not unusual to see a house with an American flag out front. This particular day, I saw a house ahead of me with an American flag AND another flag which I couldn’t quite make out. My first thought was that this other flag was the Iraqi flag! — not that I knew what the Iraqi flag looked like — but that was the thought I had.

The sight of the Iraqi flag in America gave me a beautiful rush of energy, and I walked faster. I felt love for the people in that house who had such vision. I loved America, and I loved the world. How could there be hard feelings and disturbance between countries when we have every flag flying high?

As I got closer, I saw that the flag was not Iraqi but rather an Iowa State Flag.

I looked up the Iraqi flag on the internet, and this is what it looks like:

This is what the Iowa State flag looks like.

But still, the idea came even so. And here is my idea:

What if every nation flew every flag in the world? Not just their own. The flag of every country, big country or small, ancient or new, flying outside every government building and many private businesses and homes! The flags would all be the same size, of course, and all flags would be beautiful, and all flags would fly in the breeze in all countries, and all nations would be ours.

Isn’t this a splendid idea? How could it miss?

how about every person identify themselves as an “infinite”?

thank you a lot for this idea. the next or the first step for me is to put the flags(little ones on a peace of paper from adversary nations together, hold hands over them as a blessing. and if I join with a group of people and we are doing this together, or if even we fix a special time globally on your website, and do this blessing joined, I believe, God within Us would send through the whole event A LOT OF LOVE. knowing that He/ We as One is doing this minute to minute, always Now. thank you for your letters. Dear Suzanna, what a great idea to put flags on paper. Why wait for governments to put up cloth flags when we can do something ourselves now? And the idea of blessing the flags — superb. Thank you. Thank you.

Right now I’m going to go to Google and see what I can do about copying all the flags, printing them, blessing them and putting them up on my corkboard.

I like it when everyone individually does what they want to do when they want. I don’t know why, Suzanna, but it’s never been comfortable for me to think in terms of a campaign or rallying groups. This is just a personal thing, dear one.

I am certainly very comfortable with the idea of circulating the idea!

Have you seen the other four ideas to end wars? How do we get the thought of them out there?

God bless you.

With love,

Gloria

when my sons were younger - not yet at school - there was a sticker album with all the flags of the world
and a worldmap…

and so the posted the flag stickers on the fitting country

learned the flags and the countries
and in what continent that country is counting to…

this was a game they liked very much
and even if they could not read
they knew what to put where…

so may be you find such a sticker map????

I, too, have often wondered what we could do both individually and together to promote peace and well being into the world. The thought stays with me and is always close to my heart & in my prayers. My church has the flags of all nations displayed in the area where we all meet for worship & we stay in constant prayer for all nations and for world peace. It seems so simple to me for us all to have peace and that is God’s number one command to “love one another”. Love is the most powerful thing & healer on this earth created by God Himself. The thing that appears to separate some of the other nations from us is their greed for power and to “be more and do better” (than us; have you ever noticed that “us” also stands for US - United States?). It is so sad for those nations to bring the brink & threat of nuclear war on our babies and grandbabies because of “greed” (in the name of “self defense”)when all they have to do is just “love”. Love heals all. If only they could get that wonderful message and apply it. After all, love made the US great; love for God, Country, and one another. We need to be in constant prayer for those countries and for those individuals and groups who threaten us with terroistic acts. What a beautiful world we could have if all of our voices blended together in love and gratitude to our Heavenly Father. Thank you for your thought provoking and inspiring posts. God bless each & every one of you.

How beautiful that your church has all the flags displayed. That says a lot. It may say it all. And your insightful comment. What a beatiful world we could have…

There are four other posts here about how to end all wars. Some are feasible, and some are dreams — or are they?

I think the comments are the best of all.

Bonnie, it sure would be nice to have you reading Heavenletters.

God bless you.

Dear Gloria:
AMEN!!! to ending all wars. This subject is very dear to my heart. I read your piece on ending all wars, and your idea of everyone flying everyone’s flag is a good one. It would make for a very positive beginning, and we all know that the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
I invite you to visit this website: www.spiritualunitednations.com Our worldwide Healing Fellowship is actively engaged in promoting what our founder, Dr. Willard Fuller, calls “God’s Theology” — God’s Theology being the simple truth that there is only ONE God, known by many different names, and all of us are the children of this one God. We believe that all wars, all hatred, would end if this one simple truth was adopted worldwide. The universal acceptance of the truth could heal the world.
Gloria, your work remains as wonderful as always and I pray that God will continue to bless you and your work.

At Christmas our church service was about World Peace, it starts with each one of us.

A thought I have had this year which I am taking into 2007 is that Peace starts with me. Our Minister said “That there probably never was a time when the world was totally at peace”, but what an idea.

If we woke up tomorrow and all wars were ended. We tell children to share and to make up,yet as adults we do not always do it ourselves. Surely we owe it to our children it will after all become their world!
