Do you have a sense of humor

Heaven Admin is an amazingly wonderful photographer.

Here is a beautiful photo he took the other day of Brittney, a dear friend of ours, who visited us from Cedar Rapids:

In another blog, I’ll tell you more about Brittney and how we met. But that’s for another blog.

On the same photo shoot when Heaven Admin took a beautiful photo of Brittney,  he took a photo of me that didn’t come out well at all. How do you explain that? Do I dare show you this photo or shall I just tell you about it?

It wasn’t even a good hair day.

Okay, I’ll show it to you if you promise not to laugh:

Okay, go ahead and laugh. Look, even the mosquito that landed near my eye takes a better photo.

Now, heretofore, I have told you many of the absolutely wonderful things about Heaven Admin, and I still have more wonders to tell.

But this, you won’t believe this. When I threatened to sue the amazingly wonderful Heaven Admin for the trauma incurred by this and other photos, he sank so low as to send me an email something like this:

Speak to my lawyer! Or I will blackmail you with this photo or with some other dandy ones I have kept of you. How about the one where you fell asleep in the passenger seat of the motor home while we were touring Europe, and you looked like an old geezer, and you thought I deleted it.

A person of my character will not be blackmailed, no matter what. And so, on this day of infamy, I knew I had to come forth and publish the above unretouched photo:

Well, Mr. Extortionist, what are you going to do now?

:)

The first time I really see you. Absolutely lovely. You know it, don’t you?

Hugs vor paparazzo and victim.

Well, beloved Jochen, can you tell me then: Was I laughing or crying in this photo?

Reply from Jochen on May 4, 2010

Smiling. The mosquito had not bitten yet.

I think you look like a Native American medicine woman in that photo!

Haha! Nice move Gloria! I agree, it certainly shows your character, and now you have nothing to hide! Too funny!

What courage! And what a stinker that photographer is. It just shows you how beauty show up in so many different flowers. But why did you choose to be a dandelion?

Now we need a reverse set of photos: Brittney, as she rolls out of bed and blinks at the camera, eyes half shut, and you with your spunky hair thing going on, like you are high on God!

I think I might have some blackmail photos of you too, and I am sure there must be a retaliatory unflattering photo of Santhan somewhere you could publish?

Jochen, the mosquito never did bite me! I didn’t know there was one on me until I saw the photo! Heaven Admin didn’t know either until he saw the photo!

Joyce, what you said pleased me very much. I wouldn’t mind being a medicine woman.

Brittney, nice to have you here! At least you were innocent in this whole situation. YOu can’t be held responsible for being so BEAUTIFUL and photogenic.

Dianita, I wasn’t ALWAYS a dandelion! And Heaven Admin is still wonderful, and I am about to forgive him!

Dear Gloria, on this picture you just seem to tell the viewer : «What you see is what you get. I made up my mind so make up yours».

God appears in many disguises!
But why do we always need to appear at our best? There are many beautiful women who are bringing forht wonderful messages, but I must say that when I see their photos, with a perfect make up and hairdo, something blocks me. I feel that they have some unresolved issue in themselves, if they have a need to appear. But then again, this might be an unresolved issue in myself…
(I noticed that we have the same sign at the root of the nose. Mine is a scar, because I fell when I was a little girl.)It’s beautiful to read someone’s face!
