Dear Microsoft

Dear Microsoft,

Will you please stop asking me if I really want to delete? If I press delete, that means I want to delete.  Must I repeat myself?

Microsoft, you have gone too far. You even started to not allow me to open certain attachments, including one from Heaven Admin which has to be as safe as safe can be. Must you take it upon yourself to oversee everything I do? I am a person who likes choices. I don’t like to be overruled by anyone, well, except, of course, God. Microsoft, you don’t think you’re God, do you?

If I tell you that I would really rather that you not take on the role of parent – would you stop?

I even wonder if you read the emails I send to you.

Now, I don’t want to hurt your feelings, not at all. In all fairness, there are some great things you do for me, and, I suppose, for others as well.  Microsoft, I don’t want you to think I’m totally without gratitude. I am so glad that you and computers and the internet exist. I’m so glad for all I’ve learned, like how to use Word often.

There is one very nice thing that I noticed you have been doing lately, and, that is, giving me virtual memory. Thank you.  I’m sure virtual memory is a good thing, although I don’t quite know what it is.  I do wonder how you know when I need it.

If you really do want to take on the role of parent, I wonder if I could ask you to fulfill some other wishes of mine that are not computer related?  Hmm, well, I suppose not.

Until next time,

With love and blessings,

Gloria

Gloria Dear,
You are an example for us all, To be able to write such a nice letter to something that annoys you no end. I do not think Microsoft has a sense of humor, but I think it is funny and I am sure others will have a good laugh.I have trouble with Bigpond my server they decide how big my mailbox is and how slow they can be and still call it broadband. But their C.E.O. decided he wants a yearly salary of $15.000000.- That is 15 Million and I do not think anyone is worth that sort of money bar of cause YOU
You do such a marvelous job of what you are doing in spite of Microsoft. This is probably my last entry here for a few weeks as We are going Cruising. So love light and have Fun ALL Jack

Dear Gloria,

I wasn’t home since last Friday and just came back a few hours ago.

Just wanted to tell you I loved the humor in this last blog entry.

It also reminded me how much I love my Ubuntu Linux distribution.
Indeed, I’m a grateful Linux user who could get rid of Microsoft Windows for his personal use (unfortunately, I still have to cope with it at work…).

Much blessings (and patience with computers’ practical jokes in general),

Cédric

Gloria,
You are a funny person! Yes, I think Microsoft should take on the real role of parent and give us money!

Now, that’s an idea! Then we could forgive Microsoft everything!
