Breakthrough with Jack

Well, dear ones, Jack is getting closer to becoming a working boy with acres to run on and sheep to take care of.

I’m writing this the night before this will appear on the blog. And wasn’t it this morning that I posted about nothing happening for Jack?

Happily Lauren received this email today from the couple who have fifty sheep:

Lauren,

Sorry it took so long to get back to you, but it’s been a crazy week here.  We live in Millersburg in Iowa County near North English and Williamsburg.  I would like to meet with Jack and see if he has any interest in sheep and if he would be a friend to Chance, our dog ( I really don’t see a problem with the latter).

Maybe we could set something up for the near future, assuming he hasn’t found a new home.

Please let me know how you all feel about this.

Mike

And Lauren’s response the same day:

 Hi Mike,

I understand about crazy weeks.

My suspicion is that Jack originally came from a farm. He didn’t know how to walk on a leash, was not comfortable in the house, etc.  We’ll have to see how he is with sheep.

He is very smart, has adjusted incredibly well to everything, but he absolutely needs more stimulation and exercise than I can give him. He loves other dogs - I think he needs a buddy, actually, and is fine with my cat. He loves people too - is great with kids, and is just very friendly.

Right now my schedule is pretty open. When would be good for you to have me bring him out? My cell number is xxx-xxx-xxxx, feel free to call or email.

Lauren

I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

That’s good news! This story seems much larger than just a rescued stray dog.

Beloved Charles, I KNEW you would respond!

You make me think that every story is larger than what it seems.

I see only current as well as eventual good coming from only the good energy given to and regarding Jack. How could it be otherwise?

I am so glad that you have resolved my namesake dilemma.Since January 2007 we have got a little dog when we first had him he could get under your shoe between sole and heel, now only if I was to wear high heels. His Name is Samson. Named after a great strong man.His strength come in love and devotion and still being his self. He gives us so much pleasure something I did not realize a small dog could give. Before we had German shepherds, Great Dane, Ridgeback and others also at one time a Border Collie who killed our hens and the grandchildren Guinea Pigs. so he went to another home. It was painful but necessary. So when Jack finally goes farming give him my Love L.L.L. Jack
