Beyond Words

When I am stuck for something to write in this blog, I can always fall back on personal Godwriting. Always something good there.

This is from June 15. I had been goofing off for a few days. Too busy, and all that — TOO BUSY to talk personally to God! That’s ironic, isn’t it?

Gloria to God:
Dear God, I really think it is best if I write personally to you every day. There is something to it.

It is like I have played hooky, and now I know it’s better to be in school. I realize that without writing to you, I forget to think: “Good morning, O Lord, I am in Thy Presence, I am in Thy Service, I am Thy Heart.” This is not something I want to be without, God.

God:
It is in you, anyway, beloved. It is deeper than words.

Gloria:
Yes, dear God, but…

God:
Okay, it is also good for you to remember to say it. It cushions you. It’s fine either way. There is nothing not fine, beloved, do you get it?

Gloria:
Yes! You are so much a part of me that I don’t even have to think of Your words. And yet they give great comfort.

God:
It is I, God, more than My words that give you comfort.

Gloria:
Yes. When it says to put no Gods before You, it means to not even put Your words before You.

God:
Yes, that is so.
