Another Suggestion for World Peace
I heard that Georgia and an abutting state have a quarrel over a boundary line. One of the states is claiming that their boundary should be in the middle of the river, and, therefore, they too should have the water rights. Because this claiming state apparently needs water badly, this is really a suit over water and not theoretical rights.
The last I knew there were no armed guards defending the border rights nor were there any attacks.
I would like to suggest to Georgia and Alabama, regardless of measurements and so forth, that they shake hands, and whichever one of the states owns the water rights to graciously share it with the state that doesn’t. “Who really owns? God has said.
I heard recently that something has been going on between two countries in South America, something about a solider stepping over the border and causing a furor.
I asked myself why Georgia and Alabama were still at peace with each other while serious tension brewed between two countries.
An answer came to me. A very simple solution. I don’t know why it hasn’t been thought of before. It must be so simple that it has been overlooked.
Georgia and Alabama are peaceable about their dispute because they are not separate countries! They are simply two states in one country! What else could it be?
What I suggest is that Latin and South America form one country. Isn’t this a good idea? The United States of Latin and South America! What would this one country be called in Spanish? Portuguese?
Then all of the present countries would be brother states, and all the states could live as one in harmony. This could work, don’t you think?
News Flash! Hot off the press. Last night, after I had written down this brilliant idea, the dispute in South America was settled without my advice! This is excellent news. Nevertheless, do you think this one-country idea is still worth keeping in mind?
