An Awareness So Brilliant

Jochen recently brought Heavenletter, #293  An Awareness So Brilliant, to our attention on the Heavenletter Spiritual Community Forum, and what a Heavenletter it is.

The synchronicity between Heavenletters and our lives is no surprise to us by now, yet nevertheless, I was surprised. An Awareness so brilliant took my breath away, as if I had never  seen it before.

This blog entry is about one sentence from that Heavenletter. Here it is:

What if there is actually nothing out there for you to look at, and it is your own reflection you see through your eyes?

The day Jochen drew our attention to this Heavenletter, Jack, the border collie, was over my place. It was the dark of night. The windows in my office go right to the floor. I’ve mentioned that Jack doesn’t bark. Suddenly, he started barking at something in the window. I thought something must be outside there. I looked, and there wasn’t anything.

Nevertheless, Jack kept barking!

It finally dawned on me that Jack was seeing his own reflection in the window. He saw a big black dog with a little white trim, barking at him! What was this dog doing there, sitting there, staring at him!

“Why, Jack,” I said. “That’s you.”

Nothing I said convinced Jack. Finally I had to pull the shutters shut so he couldn’t see himself anymore.

Jack sure acted out God’s words. He demonstrated that Heavenletter right in front of me.

So, do we do that too? Do we bark at someone or something when it’s ourselves that we’re seeing in the window? Some people have even been crabby with someone else, sure that the other person is at fault, only to discover later that the mistake was theirs. Of course, I’m glad that neither you nor I ever do this. :)

What if everything is us?

“What if everything is us?” Isn’t this what Oneness means?

That’s what #2844 The Hall of Mirrors says and God wanted that repeated twice for emphasis. I accept this but I just can’t see it or feel it. I quit struggling to see and feel this oneness and am waiting for God to clear my vision.

“What if everything is us?”

I think it is. Now that we know that, what will we do?

Well, that’s simple. We’ll bark and wag our tails. Jack is not in error. He’s barking from the center of God’s heart. He is God barking. And we - in whatever we do we are God doing whatever is being done. Only we think it’s something else. I feel that this thought, and this thought alone, is what is called ego or separation. Thinking it, we start doing things we don’t really want to do and hence God doesn’t want to do. Thinking it, Oneness IS, but appears blurred. Not thinking it, Oneness IS no different, only without an apparent opposite. How can we stop believing that what we experience isn’t already Oneness? By softly desiring to stop believing this. Every tree we bark up is the right one as long as we don’t think “wrong”. Thank you, Master Jack.

Glorita,

I have been barking at myself for years.

Love, Dianita
