Things That Make Me Happy

Friday, October 31st, 2008

What are the little things that make you happy?

I’ve mentioned before, I believe, a few of the little things that give me great happiness, and I thought of a couple of new ones as well.

I am very happy when — (more…)

THE BIG SECRET to Making Decisions

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008

Every now and then, I am astounded to discover how much I’ve grown since Heavenletters™.

I now qualify as a decision-maker. In fact, I believe I have discovered THE BIG SECRET to making decisions. It took me many years to learn what I am about to share with you!

Of course, I must admit there are still areas of life in which I’m not a full-fledged decision-maker. Restaurants, for example. Which one do I want to go to? What do I want to eat? In such decisions, I am wobbly. And, oh, yes, decluttering decisions – can I part with this treasure, and, if so, what pile do I put it in: Give, Donate, Sell .

Otherwise, I make decisions right and left. I just make them. Right now I am making the decision to write and post this entry. I have to decide on a title. I have to make the decision as to where to put that break in this post that makes you press Continue. (more…)

Little Garden

Flower garden beauty

In line with the blog entry called Putting First Things First, I still have lots of clearing out to do in my house. It seems to be endless, mostly because I just don’t finish it. I don’t make time to do it. I put other things first. For example, the other day, Walmart had a 50% off sale on plants. Magically, I had time to go there, decide what to buy, and time to plant the already loved plants.

I made a whole little garden right in front of the house where (more…)

The Godwriting Blog File

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

When I come across a great quotation from God in my travels through Heavenletters™ and my personal Godwriting™, I sometimes copy it down and put it in a file I keep in Drafts in Microsoft Outlook, my emailing program. Of course, there are so many great quotations, I couldn’t copy them all down.

Of course, I had forgotten all about this quote I want to share with you. And I don’t remember how I did come across it. I did note that it was originally written April 11, 1999.

At the time I was working on a Heaven book, not the one we have. This one was of stories of Heavenreaders, as revealed in a series of their questions and God’s answers. Of course, in this quotation, God could have been referring to the book that was later published though I was unaware of it at the time. (more…)

Trash thing

For trash pick-up, I usually have a small kitchen trash bag and that usually gets only a third full.

For some reason, my daughter has two big strong Hefty trash bags full every week, so she has two plastic trash cans with covers whereas I have no need for trash cans and have none, just the little waste basket under my sink.

You know I’m doing (more…)

Deeper Levels of Possessions

Monday, July 7th, 2008

I have come a long way in the letting-go department. I can just about let go of anything. It’s almost effortless. Definitely, the more I experience letting go of possessions, the easier it gets. I would like to say that practice makes perfect, but yet there always seems to be another deeper level of possession that pops up. (more…)

Organizing Power

Tuesday, June 10th, 2008

It is hard to believe that I still have decluttering to do. You’d think I’d be done by now.

My friend Nancy who is in town for a few months has been coming over often and helping enormously.

At my request, she gives me deadlines, so, for instance, when I know she’s coming over, I am sure to have books bagged for Revelations Used Book Store and clothes bagged for My Lucky Day Resale Shop, and Nancy drops them off for me. Sad to say, left to my own devices, I might not get around to bagging books or clothes. (more…)

The Gloria Quick Method of Decluttering

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

You know how proud I am that I was able to turn off Schatzi’s (my computer’s) request about making sure I wanted to delete. It really has been a freeing thing that I don’t have to wait for:  “Are you sure you want to delete?” and then have to check yes every single time. Turning this question off was a breakthrough for me, and it has saved me so much time and and annoyance.

Well, let me tell you what happened. (more…)

From the simplest words

Friday, May 9th, 2008

One (Heaven Admin) wrote a comment under the blog entry In India, the Love Shines Forth.

One’s comment was so deep, so simple and so succinct, that, by reading it, I was raised higher.

I am always amazed at how words can do so much – when they are only words — and I am amazed every time when I see that simple words are the most powerful of all. But, of course, words have meaning, or perhaps it isn’t the meaning at all but the consciousness of the writer. (more…)

Notebooks from the Past

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

Yesterday I took most of the notebooks I used to Godwrite™ in and put them in the trash pick up. There is no going back now.

It sounds so awful, putting Godwriting™ notebooks in the trash, but it wasn’t so awful. Remember, God told me to go ahead and do it. It felt freeing actually. Not that it was all easy to do. I kept having that feeling: “What if something marvelous is in this notebook and I throw it away?”

Then I would see (more…)
