This is referring to my personal D-Day!

This is the Saturday I leave my apartment, the town where I have lived longer than I have lived anywhere else, and go to Chicago en route to Johannesburg, South Africa. Lauren, my daughter, is kindly picking me up on that Saturday and turning right around to take me back to Chicago where she, Teeny, her cat, and I will spend a little over a week together before I fly out from O’Hare Airport to another continent. Please excuse me for going on a rampage again. I have become a fiend with spam. I am determined to put it in its place and show it what’s what.

I suffer spam because when caring Heaven Admin blocks it,  something important gets blocked too, and we can’t let that happen.  I made my choice to battle spam. I refuse to have it get the best of me. Of course, spam is getting the best of me because I am so fit to be tied. Spam just moseys along and does what it wants no matter what I say or do. Bad spam. My living-room now boasts two white Chinese lanterns, one over my dining table and the other updates the standard ceiling light. The ceiling light turns on with a wall switch as you enter the apartment. The Chinese lanterns make me happy.

Especially when lit, they are really beautiful. I love them.

Now, there is no more decorating to do in this apartment. Now I must declutter and return to Zen.  Yes, clutter has returned. Piles of books and papers here and there. Somehow, in such a short time, I covered up simplicity.

I was Zen for a short while. I vow to get it back and to keep it.
