Internet Intrigue

teeny4.jpg

The photo of Teeny above is not typical of Teeny whatsoever, but it is the only photo Lauren has of Teeny Weeny lying on the computer.

In fact, this photo of Teeny Weeny is so harrowing, that, when Sascha saw this photo of Teeny (Sascha puts up the photos here now) he tactfully asked me, “Can you pet her?”

Please believe me, I have never seen Teeny look like this ever! Teeny has big round eyes, and a very sweet cat expression. His eyes are so big and round and with such an amazed expression that I often call him Mr. Peepers. (more…)

The Nobel Peace Prize

Thursday, October 9th, 2008

The last blog entry on this blog, Computer Expertise, was about my one stroke of computer genius.

If you think computers are hard for me, you should see how hard it is for efficient computer whizzes to work with me!

What and how and how genially Heaven Admin (Santhan) has done and done and re-done for me would take a whole book. One special moment I will recount, however, was when he called me — on the telephone — to give me what he called simple instructions. Of course, to me, his use of the word simple is like when a physicist says something is really simple — simple for physicists, that is — sure, simple for computer whizzes who catch on right away!

Heaven Admin learned his lesson! (more…)

Computer Expertise

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008

When it comes to computers, my daughter thought that one time I qualified for the category of idiot savant.  Well, it is true that every once in a while, I do have a stroke of genius. Maybe I am a Dr. Jeckel and Mr. Hyde computerwise — two totally unrelated personas. In my case,  Dismal Technophobe and Accidental Ace. (Well, it happened once!)

If you read the Heavenletter Spiritual Community Forum, you know that Sascha has offered his computer services to all of us. He will advise us even on our worst computer difficulties. Presently, I seem to be the only person who has any computer difficulties. Anyway, I have kept Sascha busy full-time.  Sascha may rue the day he said, “Sure, why don’t I help out Heavenreaders with their computer challenges.” Little did he know that he himself would be challenged, but that is another story for another day. Different Operating Systems

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

On this blog, the comments are the most wonderful of all. This has been shown time and time again. It was revealed in a recent entry, The Preciousness of Things, an entry about needless damage to growing things.

I would like to share what Marko said to Paula and then what Paula said to Marko, and then I have more to say.  (more…)

Things I would never want to tell you

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008

Why would I tell you about how I wasn’t able to connect to the internet and how I was in my usual tizzy, and that’s only one of the difficulties yesterday that I would never want to tell you.

I am reminded of the movie Eastern Promises in which the Russian Mafia boss says: “You have to watch out for the little things. It’s the little things that can trip you up,” because I knew the difficulty with the internet was the little plug that fits into the computer.

The (more…)

Dear Microsoft for the Fifthieth Time

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

Dear Microsoft,

I thought we had come to an understanding.

For quite a while now, we have had a live and let live relationship. Now you seem to be returning to your previous masterful role.

Look, MS Word, I ask you one more time: (more…)

Opportunities I Have Let Pass Me By

Saturday, June 28th, 2008

These are internet offers that I was too busy to respond to.  See what I have missed:

1. A bunch of free laptops and ipods

2. All the free shopping sprees

3. The dinner coupons

4. Work at home for #8,000 a month and do nothing (more…)

Blue Skies

Friday, June 13th, 2008

In today’s published Heavenletter #2758, You Are on a Treasure Hunt, God says: “Remember Me and the blessings I will inevitably pour upon you.”

Have you had times in your life when dreams you never knew were even possible came true? I mean, the very thought of them is so inconceivable that there was no way you – or anyone — could have thought of them, let alone dreamed of them. I hope you will tell us what wondrous undreamed-of things have happened to you.

You already know that (more…)

A Day without the Internet

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

Yesterday was one of those days. Internet was down, down, down. I survived!

Actually, I was pretty good about it.

Early in the morning, while the internet was still connected, of course, I had no idea that it would be off the rest of the day .

Apparently, based on the Heavenletter I received that morning, God (more…)

The Gloria Quick Method of Decluttering

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

You know how proud I am that I was able to turn off Schatzi’s (my computer’s) request about making sure I wanted to delete. It really has been a freeing thing that I don’t have to wait for:  “Are you sure you want to delete?” and then have to check yes every single time. Turning this question off was a breakthrough for me, and it has saved me so much time and and annoyance.

Well, let me tell you what happened. (more…)
