Something’s got to give

Saturday, February 13th, 2010

Beloved Blogreaders, all the mistakes I’ve been making lately. Well, I made another one last night.

My friend Kathy is one marvelous cook, and she makes a potatoe-leek cream soup that is out of this world. It is really a simple recipe of a few good ingredients.

Today is Heaven Admin’s birthday, and last night I was doing the preliminaries for this wonderful soup. Before I tell you more about the soup, let me tell you what Heaven Admin is doing today and why making this soup was so important to me. (more…)

What I realized this morning

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

The past few days I had been agonizing over learning a special web editor program that Heaven Admin set up for me to use in preparing Heaven News.  I was stymied. I was beyond stymied. I was ready to give up. I was being a big baby. (more…)

I discover new expressions of ego daily

Monday, January 18th, 2010

The other day I was so frustrated with the computer I didn’t know what to do with myself. Is frustration a form of ego? I wonder.

I really used to be bright and pick up things quickly. Well, not geometry. Are computer programs descendants of geometry? No wonder then. (more…)

Galloping white horses

Sunday, January 10th, 2010

Here’s something I love when it happens by itself:

I love it when I’m asleep at night and all during the night, ideas run through my head, usable ideas, not just flights of fancy that seem wonderful in that Neverland the thoughts seem to come from but ideas that still hold up in daylight. (more…)

Paula, what makes Heaven Admin tick

Monday, December 28th, 2009

I understand totally how you feel about having to pick up after someone, and how trying it can get. I tend to leave physical disorder in my wake, but that doesn’t mean I like other people’s lack of order, not in the least — nor does it mean I like my own. I don’t. I don’t love myself for it.  Maybe some people don’t mind their own disorder, but I do mind mine, but, apparently, not enough,  not to the extent that I take care of picking up after myself as I go. I tend to leave it for “later.” (more…)

With Heaven Admin next door

Saturday, December 19th, 2009

It is a blessing for me to have Heaven Admin nearby. I can even go right next door to cry on his shoulder about my computer woes which continue to crop up. I hope I’m not wearing Heaven Admin down too much, but I get desperate. (more…)

Heaven Admin has arrived

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

picture-356.jpg

Isn’t it amazing that a young citizen of the world and an older lady currently living in Iowa have become great friends? This is a testament to God — and the internet! If there were not the internet, God would have found another way, yet what way could it have been!!!

Heaven Admin is staying in my daughter’s apartment. He has a good place to work, and I don’t disturb him — too much. Did you know that Heaven Admin is an incredible cook.

But last night I made supper for him. I made Chrysanthemum Pot. Only, I had forgotten to pick up some chrysanthemums, but there was one little rose in my garden still blooming, so I really made Rose Pot.

Chrysanthemum pot is the easiest most fun meal to make. Everything is made ahead of time. Made means it’s cut up. I had sweet potato, bok choy, collard greens, parsley,  parsnip, celery, tomatoes, pea pods, zucchini, panir, tofu and bean threads all ready to go.

You have hot water boiling in the electric fondue pot. You take your fondue fork, pick out what you want to eat, cook it quickly in the pot, dip it in tamari sauce and raw egg yolk, and eat. You repeat this again and again. I dare you to do this without laughing, especially when you’re lucky enough to be with Heaven Admin.

Soon enough you have created a most delicious vegetable broth.

And when you’re finished eating, you sprinkle edible flower petals on top of the soup, and then drink this incredible broth.

If you really want to have fun, you also buy some Iowa wine. Iowa wine has names like Cranberry Crush and Apricot Mist.  We had a little of the Cranberry Crush. Heaven Admin did not go wild over Iowa wine.

I am having the time of my life.  It gives peace in my heart to have Heaven Admin here.

I still find myself emailing him! I write clever things like: Are you really here?

Do you know that emails from Romania and Argentina don’t take any longer to get here than emails from next door?!!! They must travel the speed of light. How fast do hearts travel, I wonder.
